'I wanted to capture the delicateness of a kiss, it can be a tentative movement. The brushing of two lips against each other, with the sliver of air between them depicted as a the barrier that exists between two people. This negative space alludes to the impossibility of ever becoming one, even though there is a yearning to melt into each other.'

'This painting is the moment that the vibration between two lovers happens. Nothing else exists at that moment. Kim Addonizio expresses this beautifully at the beginning of her poem ‘Stolen Moments’ (from which my painting title comes from).‘What happened, happened once.’'
