Ray Richardson was born in Woolwich, London in 1964. He graduated from St. Martin's School of Art in 1984 and Goldsmiths in 1987. His paintings and prints are more than just a mirror of everyday life. His subjects are drawn from his own experience of living and working in London, drawing on the musical language of Scott Heron and Marvin Gaye, the pulp history of James Ellroy and the motivation of Cinema Noir.
